Birchen Edge

Long regarded as a crag for novice climbers, Birchen Edge has a surprising amount of bouldering on offer to boulderers of all abilities. The crag is very popular at weekends, which can be awkward on sections shared with routes since some of the best bouldering is also on the busiest section of the crag for routes. The harder problems tend to tackle steep bulging undercut starts that the crag is littered with and they are surprisingly hard for a \'novice crag\'. On the top of the crag are the Three Ships boulders which offer a good set of easier problems above good landings.
