Creag A' Bhancair

Stob Coire na Tuleachan is the sister summit to Stob Dearg, on the opposite side of Coire na Tulaich above Lagangarbh. There are numerous small crags on the corrie flank of its north spur, but two very prominent crags on its western flank. An upper crag, Creag na Tulaich, stands rather proud on the spur and can easily be seen from the car park, whilst Creag a' Bhancair lies more hidden below it.
Creag a' Bhancair is a superb crag – the scene of many advances in Scottish climbing over the past seven decades, including, controversially, sport climbing. As a result, the climbs are some of the best and hardest in Scotland and although routes had become somewhat lichenous, renewed interest means many have been cleaned (2019) and are in great condition. They are mostly quick drying and benefit from afternoon and evening sunshine. The Tunnel Wall is the vaguely circular reddish-pink wall in the centre of the crag and contains Scotland's best endurance sport routes. The trad climbs lay either side of this area.
