Raven Crag is an imposing crag that towers over the northern end of Thirlmere reservoir, often shaded from the sun and surrounded by trees and vegetation. Most of the routes here are multi-pitch and the best (bar one) are in the E grades. The popularity of the crag has waxed and waned over the years and in recent times lack of traffic has meant some pitches have become heavily vegetated and unclimbable. The routes included here are usually clean and climbable in dry conditions.
