[Byn an Loch-ayn] Gaelic, meaning Hill of the Little Loch.
Beinn an Lochain is a spectacular wee hill, sitting in a commanding position above Loch Restil at the top of the Rest and
Be Thankful.
It falls just short of Munro height but is a spectacular vantage point all the same, and its northern crags hold some excellent routes. The Cold Climbs classic Monolith Grooves attracts a lot of visitors, many of whom are enticed back by the range of good climbing across the grades. Kinglas Crag is much less well-known, partly because good conditions are rarer.
