Lochnagar is understandably one of Scotland\'s most famous mountains. Its distinctive outline rises gracefully above Royal Deeside and provides a noble mountain landscape for residents, tourists and climbers. The climbing is situated in the magnificent North-East Corrie with its cliff front extending for 1.5 km, reaching a height of 230m and encircling the loch which has given its name to the mountain. It is split by great gullies into several well defined buttresses which give long natural winter routes.
