[Byn Eem] Gaelic, meaning Hill of the Butter, which was produced in the shielings high on the mountain.
Beinn Ime's impressive east face is hidden from view from the A83, giving it an air of seclusion that belies its proximity to the roads and to the Central Belt. It is much less commonly visited than The Cobbler but has some excellent routes which are worth seeking out.
