A high south facing crag overlooking the Loch Avon basin, the heart of the Cairngorms and a genuinely awe-inspiring place. The crag is in two parts, separated by the revolting Diagonal Gully. Both the described routes are on the left hand section. This is easier angled than the right and split into a number of ridges. Afterthought Arete is the leftmost and longest, while Serrated Rib is the furthest right, just left of Diagonal Gully. The former is popular and well marked, the latter much less so.
