[As written] Moor of the Cairns, above Fleet. There are two Bronze Age cairns on the plateau.
Cairnsmore of Fleet is the southernmost of Galloway's major peaks. The surrounding area is a National Nature Reserve, and golden eagles and peregrine falcons are often seen. Sadly, human aviators have been less successful here, with wreckage of at least eight aircraft on the hill; a memorial to their crews stands close to the summit. The climbing is on the east flank, on the curiously-named Clints of the Spout.
