[Stop Corrie Skray-ach] Gaelic, meaning Peak of the Horrible Corrie. Presumably named before the invention of winter climbing!
The eastern Munro of the Bidean massif is best known to climbers for the excellent Sròn na Lairig ridge, a classic mountaineering route with a surprisingly remote feel.
More recently, the crags forming the right-hand side of this ridge have been explored, yielding some very good steep mixed climbs. Below these crags, as the east face drops towards the Lairig Eilde, it is channelled into a deep gorge: Eilde Canyon.
