[Moollach nan Cawrin] Gaelic, meaning Summit of the Corries.
Mullach nan Coirean is the westernmost Munro in the Mamores range. Between it and neighbouring Stob Bàn lies Coire Dearg, which has a lot of steep ground but only a few sections of crag sufficiently continuous to give good climbing. The development of these cliffs has been comparatively recent, with the hard routes being done first and the easier lines being mopped up later, resulting in some good finds across the grade range.
On the other side of the north-east ridge is Coire Riabhach and the Black Buttress. As a schist crag, it gives quite a different climbing style to the granite of Coire Dearg, with short, punchy routes that rely on frozen turf.
