The massive bulk of Beinn Fhada (Ben Attow) is just north of the North Glen Shiel Ridge, so is accessed from Morvich rather than from Glen Shiel. It looks fairly uninteresting from Glen Licht, but its north-west ridge (Sgùrr a' Choire Ghairbh) gives some excellent, exposed snowy scrambling over rocky pinnacles and the north-eastern flank of this ridge forms a dramatic corrie with several worthwhile winter climbs.
