Anstey\'s Cove

Anstey\'s Cove has long been the epicentre of hard Devonian sport climbing. For decades the bases of the crags were used as training venues replete with low-level stamina traverses and endless eliminates. In 2012, Tom Bunn dragged the cove into the new millennium with his assent of Gravitron (f7B+) - a fantastic problem on one of the huge boulders scattered on the rocky beach below. This ascent typified the more modern approach of utilizing multiple bouldering mats to cover rocky landings - in fact there are not many problems on the beach you would want to attempt without a bouldering mat. More recently, the Deep Learning sector was discovered by Ed Gow-Smith and subsequently developed by Jamie Rankin and others adding a greater depth of harder problems.
In terms of difficulty, style and height of problem there is great variety to be found, and the location is idyllic. We have included both old school and new school problems, and some previously undocumented low-to-mid grade problems on the beaches.
