Dancing Ledge

Dancing Ledge is a truly diverse sport climbing locus that caters for most tastes and abilities. The vast majority come here for its roll call of year round sport climbs in the upper quarry, however during the warmer months the unusual roof climbs of the lower tier start to get ascents most with a rope on, but occasionally the odd deep water soloist will venture out across the pump inducing horizontal lines in the Graveyard and Bust Ya\' Boiler Areas. The eastern side of the ledge disappears into a wide sea cave above which are some rarely climbed adventurous lines that require an abseil approach to hanging stances just above the waves. The lower ledge also has a wide squat wall blessed with good holds that is used by groups and those after some easier trad fare. Dancing Ledge is a major tourist destination for picnicking, swimming and sunbathing; it even has it own swimming pool carved into the ledge, perfectly placed for cooling off in the summer months between climbs.
