Despite its modest proportions, Averau forms quite a striking presence when viewed from the Falzarego Pass, perched like a top hat on the slopes above the more famous Cinque Torri. It is home to a popular via ferrata, and the surrounding scenery and excellent rifugios make it the ideal location for a relaxing day out.
