Twistleton Scar

Twistleton (sometimes spelt 'Twisleton') is a long low escarpment of limestone that overlooks the western flanks of Ingleborough. The crag is home to many excellent and popular single pitch trad routes, the majority being between Severe and HVS. The rock on the whole is superb since it has been heavily weathered and is well supplied with corners, aretes and crack-lines. The climbs are not very high but they often have sustained difficulties and the protection is not always immediately obvious. On a fine warm day this is one of the loveliest places to climb in the Dales combining great little routes with magnificent scenery.
