There are a lot of abandoned quarries around Matlock and most of them are pretty grotty. Duke's Quarry is one of these though it does have a couple of outstanding lines - Great Crack in particular is worth a look after a long dry spell. It is well sheltered from any bad weather but is green and damp for much of the year. Dry spells only!
