Arboli

The crags near the charming village of Arboli are not as well known as those of La Riba, Mussara or Siurana but the quality, if not the quantity, is no less. The environment is tremendous with eagles and eagle owls (el duc) a regular feature and the views of Siurana and Montsant are breath-taking. The two main areas described here are the Roadside Crags near the village of Arboli, and the magnificent buttress of El Falco which is home to some of the longest single pitches to be found in the guide and is one of the major crags catering for those climbing in upper 6s and mid 7s. The Roadside Crags offer a wider selection of grades and are a good venue for parties with a variety of abilities. The climbing on all the sectors described requires stamina, good technique and finger strength. The rock is superb and the belay ledges beneath the crags very comfortable.
