Siurana Valley

Perched high on an isolated promontory, the tiny Moorish village of Siurana has become a Mecca for many sport climbers over the previous decade. Its position, charm and high quality routes make it one of the most popular winter rock climbing destinations in Europe, and yet with the exception of weekends it rarely feels crowded. The area has been a forcing ground for high standard sport routes since the first bolted climbs appeared in the 80s and is still providing the necessary combination of magnificent challenges and a vibrant scene that produces state-of-the-art pitches.
The Siurana Valley area has been extensively developed in recent years and now offers as much climbing as the Village crags. The beautiful orange walls host a collection of excellent vertical and overhanging pitches, many at 30m or longer in length. Access is relatively simple and the further leftwards you go, the fewer people you will meet.
