The northern end of Stanage offers much for the boulderer who likes solitude and who is prepared to walk a bit. The decent bouldering tends to be in isolated pockets which can mean that you spend a fair amount of time lugging your pad around but there are some great problems.
The better problems are mostly in the mid and hard grades with some top-notch black-spot problems and plenty in the red-spot grades. For the lower grades the only sections worth considering are the Causeway and the Buckstone but these are definitely worthwhile.
