Burbage North has been used for bouldering and soloing for years. It is the first place many climbers reach when driving out from Sheffield and it is ideal for a quick afternoon or evening session throughout the year. There are many destination problems such as Banana Finger, Remergence, Blind Date, The Terrace and Voyager - the sit-start to the latter being one of the hardest in the country. In the right conditions, the various blocks will be busy with clusters of boulderers and heaps of mats. For those looking for lower grades the edge itself has plenty to offer. Some of the problems were originally climbed as routes and can get quite high, so may feel more like soloing. The whole length of the edge can get busy, especially the sections nearer the parking. It is also very popular with outdoor groups.
