In the northern edge of Matlock town are two small bouldering spots with an urban feel to them. The large Bank Quarry has little to offer most boulderers apart from two superb hard highballs including the classic Power of the Darkside, f6C+ (but worth E7) and some smaller natural buttresses with a classic f7A+ arete Back Street Abortionist. Jackson Tor is a little grotty and suffers from litter and graffiti but the rock is decent and the area around The Arete, f6A, is good.
