Happy Valley

Happy Valley is a great venue which has gaining interest, especially amongst the bouldering community. Development was helped by a significant deforestation campaign in 2013 which uncovered a number of forgotten walls and boulders.
The valley is split into three areas, with the first being the West Valley Boulders covering the rocks to the west of the 'Historic 101 Steps' and the Deforestation Boulder. The Main Cliff is best known for its low-level walls sitting clearly on the southeastern edge of the valley. Most of the routes here were originally done on top-rope, but nowadays ascents above mats are more common. Take care though, some are quite high and the landings not always straightforward. Furthest to the east is the unusual isolated block of the Cheeswring Rock above the lower path, which has some longer outings.
