Raven Crag - Walthwaite

Walthwaite's Raven Crag is a gem of a venue that has a small number of pleasing climbs, generally on good rock. The best routes are in the mid-grades and the gear is good on most of the lines, although at times spaced. The majority of the routes are one or two pitches and this, coupled with its quick approach, sunny aspect and low altitude, makes the crag a great choice for an evening's activity if the higher crags are wet or cold. Belays on the top of the cliff are not easy to find but a solid boulder is located around 20m back from the edge, and it may be worth leaving a rope in place if planning on doing a number of the climbs.
