For the majority of climbers 'Gimmer', as it is affectionately known, is the finest crag in Langdale and one of the Lake District's top mountain destinations. The rock is simply immaculate, the location majestic and the climbing the best that trad can offer. There is something here for all, although its reputation for high quality does mean the crag can be very busy, especially on bank holiday and summer weekends. The crag is complex and navigating both the approaches and descents from most of the routes is not easy on first acquaintance and a little forward planning will be well rewarded.
