Neckband Crag is an outcrop high above the floor of Mickleden in upper Langdale. The rock is excellent and the lines are striking, making this a great place to grab some classy single-pitch lines in the HVS to E2 grades. The ease of descent means that lots of climbing can be done on a visit, negating the longish approach. It is worth noting that the crag sees little sun and takes time to dry after rain, especially in and around the corner of Mithrandir where a huge streak of black moss can remain wet for some time.
