Pillar Rock

Pillar Rock sits high on the fellside looking down on the remote wilderness of Ennerdale and is one of the Lake District's biggest and most complex cliffs. The routes, like the approach, are long and have a strong mountaineering flavour about them. The classics see regular traffic and live up to their reputations as some of the UK's finest mountain climbs. Conversely, some of the less well-travelled routes will need a clean-as-you-climb approach to some degree. The views and exposure are fantastic, adding to the grandeur of this amazing cliff. Catching it in prime condition may take a few visits but it is well worth it!
