Yew Crag Knotts is an interesting crag that sits on the sunny side of Buttermere and is easily reached from the road by a steep walk. It is a compact crag, lined with lots of well-defined corners and grooves which offer up a handful of testing E1s and E2s. The rock is generally good, but it is smooth and the routes require good technique. The outlook is stunning and the crag base a pleasant spot to relax between routes. The whole buttress is exposed to sun, wind and rain and can be a cold spot if cloudy and breezy.
