The main attraction on this big sprawling cliff is Gillercombe Buttress, one of the great classic multi-pitch severes in the Lake District. The climbing is always interesting, the rock solid and clean and in good weather this is a reliable destination at most times of year. Its location at a relatively low altitude compared to other big mountain crags and sunny aspect make it a good short day objective.
