by scrambling up Jack's Rake. A good reference point is a steep groove midway up the rake that has a large tree at its end.
North Buttress Traverse right from the base of East Gully on a narrow path to below the buttress.
East Gully Wall Walk up the gully until a narrow grassy subsidiary groove/chimney on the left gains the start of the access pitches. A couple of the lines start by walking up the main gully a little further, before traversing left to stances.
Pavey Ark is a classic high Lakeland mountain crag that overlooks a tarn with a spectacular view out over Langdale to Windermere and beyond. The most popular climbing is on the sprawling south face above and below the extremely popular scramble of Jack's Rake. Tucked away on the right-hand side is the East Gully Wall - a formidable piece of rock lined with some testing pitches in the upper grades.
the Golden Slipper climbs is by scrambling to the top of the cliff. and then walking off right (looking out) to the top of Jack's Rake and descending it.
North Buttress Walk off right (looking out) to East Gully.
East Gully Wall Scramble up to the top of the cliff and then go down left (looking out) to the top of East Gully. Scramble down this to its base.
