Black Crag

Black Crag is a tremendous venue with many outstanding single and multi-pitch climbs and grades to please most. The rock is excellent and lends itself to intricate face climbing interspersed with a few tough cracks. The famous Troutdale Pinnacle is the most sought-after tick, with its various direct variations providing something a bit harder. Left of the pinnacle buttress is a impressive wall split by an overlap which is home to a couple of the Lakes' best known harder climbs - Prana and Grand Alliance. This is a crag with a broad appeal and as such is often busy especially late in the day when the views out from above the treeline are glorious. A warm summer's afternoon spent here is guaranteed to be memorable.
