A series of amiable buttresses set deep within a secluded valley, Gouther Crag is not usually on the itinerary for most climbers visiting the Lake District. The rock and climbing are both first rate on all the routes covered here and the grade spread is large enough to give any team plenty to go at. Although not roadside, Gouther Crag is very easily accessed from the M6 and makes a good stop on the way to, or from, the central Lakes.
