Charpoua and Nant Blanc

The Dru, along with the Grandes Jorasses and Mont Blanc, is one of the most emblematic peaks of the Mont Blanc Massif. Very visible from the Chamonix valley, it begs to be climbed. The two basins that surround it, the Nant Blanc on the Chamonix side and the Charpoua on the Mer de Glace side, are relatively quiet areas despite providing some stunning routes.
The routes range from mixed \'Grand Course\' style outings, such as the classic North Face of the Dru and the Brown-Patey on the Sans Nom, to some of the best crack climbs of the massif like Sale Athée and The American Direct to classic alpinism like the Dru Traverse.
