A pleasant quarry that is packed with some good sport climbing mainly covering grades in the 6a to 6c range but with enough easier and harder lines to keep most happy for a day. The climbs are predominately on the slabby side of vertical and well bolted, clean and for the most part on solid rock. Although fairly high up on the fellside the walls are sheltered from the wind, and sun or shade can be found throughout the day. Seepage is not a problem but there is no chance of finding dry rock during wet weather. The quarry is extensive and has been climbed on for many years but has been recently rejuvenated, with new routes added and older bolts replaced to give a venue well-worth visiting.
