The narrowing tower that is the main focus of climbing at Chinkwell Tor is by no means a major venue and is high on the list of Dartmoor\'s little visited crags. Nevertheless, it delivers a small hit of routes that are unlikely to be forgotten quickly for various reasons, not least due to the fierce nature of its two standout pitches. If climbing high on the moor could be distilled down to a couple of lines, then this is probably as close as it gets, with the full arsenal of granite tor climbing to be contended with. The backdrop, high above the hamlet of Widecombe-in-the-Moor is sublime, and the parking is at Bonehill Rocks, one of Dartmoor\'s best bouldering venues.
