Goblin Combe is a (mostly) tranquil wooded valley with some excellent cliffs offering varied trad climbing on good natural limestone. There is climbing across the grades but it is particularly good from HS to E2. The location is handy, being only 15 minutes from the M5. The only downside is that it lies directly under the flight path into Bristol Airport. For those with an interest in the places and characters of J.R.R.Tolkien's stories, the route names will add another level of interest to a visit.
