Smalldale Quarry is a decent venue with three good walls developed for sport climbing. The setting above a lorry park and brick factory isn't the best, but good climbing and occasional late afternoon sun can make it feel much more pleasant. The Main Wall has the best routes in the quarry with some with some fierce technical climbs in the 6c to 7b range. The Crystal and Going Straight walls offer routes at more friendly grades and are consequently quite popular.
