Pic Tor

Pic Tor is a small buttress of good quality rock hidden in Matlock, just a short distance from the River Derwent and the A6. The rock is pocketed and the climbing fingery and sustained. Protection is usually good, but bring plenty of small wires. The crag is a level five-minute walk from an extensive carpark and is a good spot to grab a few routes when passing.
The routes have been popular for years and many of them are rather polished, though this doesn't detract too much from the quality of the climbing. They can get a bit dusty if they haven't been climbed much, so be prepared to brush off the holds.
