Es Queixal

This is a curious crag which puts to rest the rumour that modern climbers are only interested in developing bits of rock that they can walk to within 10 minutes of the car. The approach drive passes through some spectacular scenery but involves tackling the endless hairpins on the road which descends to Sa Calobra. The spectacular pinnacle of Es Queixal is actually situated in the next cove along from Sa Calobra which is called Cala Tuent. As is often the case in Mallorca the potential of the crag exceeds the current reality, which may come as a bit of a disappointment if you have struggled to get the crag, especially if you lose your way on the approach path. However, don\'t be put off, the situation and atmosphere at Es Queixal are magnificent, and for those who wish to explore the island further than the usual haunts, you could not wish for a more beautiful location.
