El Calo de Betlem

This fine little crag lies on the eastern tip of the island, near the villa settlement of Betlem, on the way to Cap de Ferrutx. The two buttresses offer contrasting climbing, on great rock, in a beautiful setting. El Calo de Betlem in particular has a fine set of middle-grade routes and is the perfect spot to squeeze every last bit of light out of the day. The central dome-shaped wall has two magnificent technical climbs and the walls on either side are home to contrasting steeper pitches. Sector Subte is only really of interest to those who enjoy extremely steep explosive climbing and feel the need to get a bit more steep tufa action under their belts. Although a little off the beaten track, the crags are relatively easy to get to and make a good stop-off on the way back from Cala Magraner or Ermita de Betlem crags.
