Egerton Quarry

Egerton Quarry is an extensive hole in the ground which is close to Wilton Quarries, but nowhere near as popular. Despite being home to nearly 200m routes, much of the quarry is broken and slightly disappointing from a climber's perspective although there are routes dotted all around the edge of the quarry on various decent buttresses. The three spots described here feature the best routes including the fine Wood Buttress, the impressive Red Prow and the aretes and corners around Cherry Bomb.
In recent years there have been attempts to clean up sections of the crag and this is an ongoing battle.
