Some 500m east of the cliffs of Porthclais are the excellent paired slabs of Porth-y-Ffynnon. The show-piece here is certainly the distinctive, main slab, with routes such as The Crack and Grab the Slab; it's quite an eclectic affair, rising from small crozzled ledges just above the sea, and featuring a double-angle purple sheet of rock, a high ramp-line, and one or two approach choices. The narrower, grey Aquaplane slab does, however, provide some extra spice. Around on the other side of the headland is a hiddne gem - the beautiful purple Velvet Wall which has a handful of quality routes.
