Split Rock Quarry

Well concealed on the lower slopes of the rolling tree-covered Mendip Hills is this gem of a quarry. There are only a small number of routes here but the quality of the rock and climbing is fantastic. The routes are predominantly traditional, albeit with a smattering of threads, pegs and bolts. The well-featured rock face gives the climbs diversity, often linking pockets, cracks and breaks via thin face holds. Protection is normally good and the climbing is sustained and technical plus, on the harder lines, extremely fingery.
