Carn Barra

Carn Barra has a sunny aspect, high quality rock, classy climbs, easy access and little in the way of tidal constraints, making it a reliable and favoured venue. The routes are single-pitch and the grade coverage is good, although the very best climbs are in the E grades.
Fox Promontory is composed of excellent vertical granite and, although tidal and less easily accessed than many of its neighbouring cliffs, it sees a steady trickle of visits. The climbs are all worthwhile, following good lines that are generally well-protected. The only drawback is the need for dry conditions on the North West Face, which are not frequently found. The location is magnificent, and the views from the cliff are breathtaking.
