Taddington

Taddington, or Crag 'X' as it is often known, is a compact crag situated above the A6. There is nothing of any great quality here, but the routes are well-bolted and there are a few interesting lines, especially for those leading in the 7a/b range. Most of the routes follow a similar pattern - relatively easy starts, sometimes on slightly loose rock, leading to a rest, then an intense hard section follows, on small crimpy holds, where the crux is often locating the best ones to use. Higher up, some of the routes ease off and others keep going all the way to the belays. Over the years the set of routes people do has reduced down to the middle group between The X Files and XXXX. The rest see few ascents.
