Penmaen Head is an extremely popular crag made up of a number of walls of single-pitch sport climbs with the majority being in the lower and mid-grades. The rock is generally good and the routes well equipped allowing plenty of mileage to be gained in a short period. Some of the faces are covered with flowstone and these are worth a drive-by visit, either when passing on the A55 or as an escape from poor weather in the mountains.
