Pian dei Fiacconi is a great crag just east of the rifugio of the same name and at the top of the bucket lift (an extraordinary experience in itself). Located halfway down the north face, just under the glacier, the climbing environment is distinctly Alpine. The crag receives few visitors and some routes will require some cleaning. On the whole the climbing is enjoyable on technical slabs and will appeal to those looking for solitude or simply something a bit different. The crag can hold snow late into the season. The bucket lift opens from late June to mid September and this is the best time to climb here - check with Rifugio Pian dei Fiacconi, or the Canazei tourist office, to make sure the lift is running.
