Welcome to Sagres, Portugal's gateway to all the rugged Atlantic coast has to offer. The town of Sagres is found on Portugal's south-west tip, and provides the deep water soloist with Ingrina and Ponta Garcia - two magnificent and well-catalogued limestone venues, which have seen all their development packed into the last few years. Couple their accessibility with warm, late season seas, and you have what amounts to a DWS paradise. You wouldn't expect the Atlantic Ocean at Sagres to offer only a 0.8m tidal variation, much like the Mediterranean, but that is what Portugal's south coast provides. More essential than tide watching is grabbing the days when the surf is down, however with both crags enjoying some form of shelter from the Westerlies, this can be easier than you'd think.
